Make a video smaller for email attachments

If a video is too large to email, compress it here, download the result, and attach that file to your message. This page starts with Shrinkle’s 20 MB preset; it does not send email or upload your footage.

Your email provider and the recipient’s mailbox may allow different sizes. Other attachments and message encoding can also count toward a limit. Check the applicable limit and use Custom to leave extra room when needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is 20 MB guaranteed to work with every email service?

No. Email attachment and message limits vary by provider and account. The 20 MB preset is a starting target, not a universal email limit. Choose a smaller Custom size if your mailbox requires it.

Why can a compressed video attachment still be rejected?

A service may limit the whole message, including other attachments and encoding overhead. The recipient may also have a lower limit. Try a smaller target, remove other attachments, or trim the video before compressing it.

Can I send a large video by email without a cloud-sharing link?

If the downloaded file fits the sender’s and recipient’s limits, you can attach it normally. Personal Gmail accounts currently allow 25 MB of total attachments and may replace larger attachments with a Drive link. Other accounts can have different rules.

Do I need to connect my email account to Shrinkle?

No. The compressor works without an account or email connection. You download the result and attach it yourself using your usual email app.
